This Weekend: what’s on in East Dallas

THIS WEEKEND:
The Party Must Go On
Sat. Oct. 18 from 1-5 — Stonewall Jackson, like the rest of DISD, has felt some pain of late, but that doesn’t mean they can’t celebrate … which they WILL, this weekend, at the Beyond the Stars Carnival.
Rock Climbing, bounce house, fortune telling, food, games, more, more and more. Admission is FREE and a $30 wristband buys unlimited games. ($25 if you drop by the school and get it early.

Last Weekend of the State Fair
Fri. Oct. 17 — She is to the Dallas Cowboys what Yoko Ono was to the
Beatles: Whether you love or just love to hate Jessica Simpson, the
bombshell performs Friday night at the great State Fair of Texas.

Sat. Oct 18 — Pop artist Michelle Branch takes the main stage at the State Fair.

Runnin’ Down a Cure
Sat. Oct. 18 — Time to put on the pink and run for life — Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
starts at NorthPark. You can register the day of the race beginning at
6 a.m., or go to Luke’s Locker to register today or tomorrow.

Hey, Pumpkin!
ALL WEEKEND — Orange is the color of the season, especially at the Dallas Arboretum Great pumpkin Festival through Nov. 2 —  it’s 66 acres of pumpkins, flowers, music, crafts, contests and more.

Also: Barkitecture and the White Rock Artists Studio Tour, which we told you about earlier this week.

  1. Worried says:

Mr. Painter and the garden were officially riffed at SJ yesterday. So were 4 teachers and the assistant principal. The kids were very upset.
